Description
Vega Series – Voice-over-IP Gateways
A Vega VoIP gateway is a standalone appliance that converts analog signals to SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and vice versa, enabling connections between legacy telephony infrastructure and modern VoIP networks.
Digital and analog VoIP gateways are primarily used by companies with a legacy PBX that want to seamlessly connect to a SIP trunking service without having to change their infrastructure to keep costs down. They can also be used by VoIP-enabled businesses that want to connect to the PSTN for failover or use legacy analog equipment, such as phones and fax machines, on their IP network.
Service provider VoIP gateways are used by large organizations to provide telecommunications services such as SIP trunking and value-added services (VAS) to their customers and to provide a clear migration path to an all-IP network.
Digital gateways
Vega’s digital VoIP gateways are small devices that seamlessly connect your legacy telephony infrastructure, consisting of PRI (T1/E1) or BRI lines, to IP networks.
They are great for organizations with legacy PBXs (such as TDM PBXs) that want to connect to SIP trunking services without spending money to change their current network infrastructure. They are also great for businesses that are already VoIP-capable at their core (with an IP PBX), but need PSTN connectivity and require a SIP-to-TDM converter.
Simply place the Vega digital VoIP gateway at the edge of your network, connect your existing Internet cable for VoIP connectivity and E1/T1 or BRI cables from your PBX, and let the Vega digital VoIP gateway automatically perform SIP signaling and voice media conversion for seamless voice and T.38 fax integration.
Analog gateways
Sangoma’s Vega analog gateways enable enterprises to seamlessly connect VoIP and PSTN networks without changing infrastructure, saving you time and money. These small appliances sit at the edge of the enterprise network and connect directly to the PSTN and Internet cabling, automatically handling call processing and media conversion.
They are the most resilient VoIP gateways in their class with built-in local survivability, meaning that in the event of a VoIP outage, the Vega gateway will allow internal extensions to continue calling each other and automatically route to a failover PSTN connection if available.
