embedded world 2026 Recap
Edge performance, rugged systems, and real-world applications – BRESSNER reports a positive outcome
For three days, Nuremberg once again became the meeting point for the international embedded community. At embedded world 2026, developers, system integrators, industrial companies, and technology providers came together to exchange insights on the latest developments in edge computing, AI integration, and industrial system architectures. BRESSNER Technology GmbH was also present in Hall 1 with its own booth, using the event to showcase current platforms for demanding embedded and edge applications.
Embedded Computing Becomes a Strategic Pillar of Modern System Architectures
Many discussions at the event centered around key trends shaping the industry. One of the most prominent is the ongoing shift of computing power to the edge of the network. Applications in industrial automation, machine vision, and autonomous logistics generate vast amounts of data that can no longer be processed centrally in many cases. Instead, increasingly powerful edge systems are being deployed to analyze data directly at the source.
Martin Stiborski, CEO of BRESSNER Technology GmbH says:
„We clearly see that edge computing is no longer just an option in many projects - it has become a fundamental part of system architecture.Companies want data to be available as quickly as possible and to make decisions locally. This requires systems that are both high-performance and extremely reliable.“
Industrial Edge Systems Balancing Performance and Real-world Requirements
This is exactly where BRESSNER’s trade show presence focused. At its booth in Hall 1, the company presented a range of industrial platforms specifically designed for use in demanding environments. These included rugged industrial PCs, high-performance GPU-based edge AI systems, as well as panel PCs and mobile or rugged computing solutions.
Many of the showcased systems are aimed at applications where traditional IT hardware quickly reaches its limits, for example in production facilities, vehicles, control centers, or medical devices. In such scenarios, systems must not only deliver performance but also operate reliably under harsh environmental conditions, often over many years.
AI at Edge: Computing Power Directly at the Data Source
A particular highlight was GPU-accelerated edge AI platforms designed for compute-intensive workloads such as image processing, video analytics, and machine learning applications. Across many industries, new use cases are emerging where AI is deployed directly within production processes or mobile environments.
The combination of powerful GPU technology and industrial-grade system architecture is a key factor here.
Martin Stiborski explains:
„Artificial intelligence is increasingly moving out of the data center and into industrial environments. This means hardware must do more than just provide computing power. It must operate reliably under real-world conditions, be available long-term, and integrate flexibly into existing systems.“
From Individual Devices to Complete Edge Infrastructures
Beyond pure performance, system robustness was another central topic in many conversations. Embedded projects are often designed for lifecycles spanning several years, while requirements for scalability and upgradability continue to grow. Companies are therefore looking for platforms that combine technical performance with long-term planning reliability.
BRESSNER traditionally positions itself as a provider of complete industrial solutions. In addition to standard platforms, the company works closely with customers to develop customized system designs tailored to specific use cases. Especially in complex edge architectures, this combination of hardware expertise and integration know-how is becoming increasingly important.
Strong Demand for Customized Solutions
Discussions at embedded world confirmed this trend. Many visitors came to the booth with highly specific requirements, for example in industrial image processing, autonomous systems, or intelligent transportation infrastructures. The focus was often no longer on individual components, but on how to build complete and reliable edge infrastructures.
Martin Stiborski says:
„In Nuremberg, we had many conversations that went far beyond individual devices. Companies are thinking more in terms of system architectures. They are considering how data flows from the sensor through the edge platform to higher-level IT systems. This interface between hardware, integration, and application is exactly where we see our role.“
embedded world as an Benchmark for Technological Development
Topics such as energy efficiency, compact design, and modular scalability also played a key role at the event. Particularly in industrial environments, systems often need to operate in limited spaces while meeting increasing demands for performance and interface diversity.
For BRESSNER, embedded world 2026 was not only an opportunity to present current products but also an important benchmark for technological developments in the embedded industry. The exchange with customers, partners, and developers provided valuable impulses for future projects and product strategies
Martin Stiborski explains:
„Every year, embedded world clearly shows where the market is heading. For us, the event is especially important because we can speak directly with the people who will ultimately use these technologies. These conversations often inspire the next generation of systems.“
embedded world Germany 2026 Best-in-Show: Winner
A particular highlight of this year’s exhibition was the “embedded world Germany 2026 Best-in-Show” award. The EdgeX-6000 edge computer from ARBOR Technology received this distinction, impressing with its high-performance architecture and its clear focus on demanding edge and AI applications.
The award-winning system was also showcased at the BRESSNER Technology booth, giving visitors the opportunity to experience its capabilities and potential use cases firsthand. The recognition highlights the growing importance of powerful, industrial-grade hardware for modern edge infrastructures: an area in which BRESSNER, together with its technology partners, continues to actively drive innovation.

A Positive Conclusion for BRESSNER
After three intense days at the exhibition, BRESSNER draws a positive conclusion. Demand for high-performance edge platforms, rugged embedded systems, and customized solutions continues to grow. At the same time, it has become clear that hardware is playing an increasingly central role in modern data and AI architectures.
With its portfolio of industrial PCs, GPU-based edge AI systems, panel PCs, and rugged computing platforms, BRESSNER is well positioned to actively shape this development. Once again, embedded world 2026 demonstrated that powerful and reliable hardware forms the foundation for many of the technologies currently transforming industry and infrastructure.
