The HANNOVER MESSE 2026 is behind us, and once again it became clear how central Industrial IT, edge computing and connected infrastructures are to industrial transformation. At the joint booth with our long standing partner Digi International, BRESSNER’s main focus was direct exchange with industry professionals. Across many conversations, we discussed current challenges, concrete project requirements, and the next steps around automation, AI, and Industrial IoT.

Focus on AI Enabled Industrial Applications

A key topic at this year’s show was the use of artificial intelligence in industrial automation. Many visitors were specifically looking for solutions to make data driven processes more efficient and unlock new potential in production.

One thing became clear: powerful hardware is a critical foundation for successful AI deployments, especially when applications run directly in industrial environments. Edge computing enables data to be processed where it is generated, creating the basis for fast, reliable, and scalable applications.

Edge AI in Practical Deployments

A highlight at the booth was the presentation of high performance edge AI systems such as the EdgeX-6000. The platform is designed for demanding industrial applications and enables complex AI workloads to run directly at the edge. With flexible expansion options and support for GPU based applications, the system fits a wide range of scenarios—from machine vision and analytics to data intensive real time applications.

The strong interest and high demand at the booth highlighted how relevant edge AI platforms are for today’s industrial projects, especially where latency, data volume, and operational stability are key requirements.

Industrial Connectivity as the Foundation for Connected Systems

Alongside AI and edge computing, industrial connectivity was another central topic. Together with Digi International, BRESSNER presented solutions for reliable network connectivity, cellular communication as well as infrastructure management in industrial environments.

Especially in distributed system landscapes, it becomes clear how important stable and secure communication solutions are: they form the foundation for operating modern IoT and edge architectures and enable efficient integration into existing processes.
