Mechanical hard disks are only suitable for industrial use to a limited extent, as they are sensitive to vibrations and extreme temperatures. In contrast, solid-state drives (SSD) based on flash memory, such as the Industrial SSDs of the ATP Velocity series from BRESSNER Technology GmbH, have proven their worth due to their high operational reliability and fast data transfer. It thus offers the best prerequisites for use in industrial applications such as industrial servers, embedded systems and data centers, where interchangeability, but above all reliability, is important.

The industrial 2.5″ SATA-III SSDs performs its service even under rough conditions thanks to its equipment with shock and vibration protection. With its choice of 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB storage capacity, it still secures particularly important data even where other hard drives would have long since given up, and can be operated in a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C or 0 °C to 70 °C without any problems. ATP’s Velocity SSDs are specifically designed for mission-critical industrial applications where long life and reliability are critical. Using SLC (single-level cell for Velocity SI Lite series) or optional aMLC (advancedMLC for Velocity XE series) NAND flash, they achieve exceptionally long uptime at speeds of up to 181 MB/s or 250 MB/s for sequential reads and up to 133 MB/s or 180 MB/s for sequential writes.

An improved SMART ATA feature set is also on board, as is trim support. The latter ensures that deleted blocks are immediately cleaned and made available again so that the SSD’s performance is permanently maintained. An MTBF of up to 3,000,000 hours also ensures a long service life and good protection against unexpected system failures, incalculable risks and the often associated loss of important information.
