MXE-5500 Series – High processing power and rugged design

The MXE-5500 series box PCs combine outstanding performance with extensive connectivity and ease of use. The rugged housing enables use under difficult conditions. With the use of the Intel Core i7-6820EQ processor with 4 GB DDR4 2133 of the sixth generation (Skylake), the embedded computer focuses on high performance with minimal power consumption. The Smart Embedded Management Agent integrated in the system ensures stable security for the numerous applications. Together with unique image and video processing and efficient remote monitoring, the computers of the MXE-5500 system meet the requirements for use in critical applications with the highest demands on reliability. Tried and tested applications in industrial environments can be found in factory automation, logistics and vehicle applications.

Remote control via TCP/IUP communication

The collaboration of integrated tools in the computer system allows efficient remote monitoring of the system status in real time, system control via secure channels and a fully manageable allocation of the various system resources. The use of Intel’s Quick Sync video technology for unique image and video processing and the SDK+ software library for multimedia applications enables the computer to perform industrial image processing and multimedia applications. The computer platform is already prepared for Intel vPro™ technologies. The system is remotely managed and controlled via encrypted Out of Band TCP/IP communication. The fanless MXE-5500 with its reliable connections is optimized for various special applications. The I/O design provides two independent dual-display ports and a DVD-I interface for video output. The four existing serial ports are equipped with surge protection. In addition to four Gigabit LAN connections and eight digital inputs and outputs with 1.5 KV isolation, the computer has four USB 3.0 ports. Four of these interfaces are capable of supplying power to cameras or other external devices. An internal USB 2.0 port is also available for dongles.

High reliability and resistance through robust design

Embedded computers of the MXE-5500 series ensure maximum reliability in data management. The internal dual SATA III interface provides support for RAID systems. In addition, two Mini-PCI slots and one USIM slot provide various options for wireless communication via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G or GPS. Especially for outdoor use, the surge protection of the Gigabit Ethernet ports and the COM ports provides security. The operating temperature of 0 °C to +50 °C is still expandable to -20 °C to 60 °C when using industrial SSD. The computers can withstand vibrations of up to 5 G across all three axes and shocks of up to 100 G. When using HDD, the load limit is significantly lower, with vibration up to 0.5 G and shock resistance up to 20 G. Input voltages from 9 to 32 VDC supply the computer system. On request, the Box PC is also available with the Intel processor Core™ i5-6440EQ 4 GB or Core™ i3-6100E 4 GB.
